Large-scale metal mining has a long record of health impacts against the communities of Meso-America. On July 14-15, 2012, members of affected communities, scientists, academics, spiritual leaders, journalists and human rights defenders will meet in San Miguel Ixtahuacán, San Marcos department, Guatemala, to carry out an ethical and political tribunal called by the communities. Real World Radio will be present in Guatemala to broadcast the event live and gather the testimonies of the participants.
