In this section Real World Radio aims to expose the murders of social activists and the cases of death threats against leaders. We will report on the wave of criminalization of the social protest. This new section of Real World Radio is also a memorial page for all those who were murdered in their struggle for a socially just world.

National Agrarian Summit Ends in Colombia With Unity of Social Movements

The National Agrarian Summit held in Bogota, Colombia ended after two days of debates and of reaching inter-ethnic and inter-sectoral agreements. Over 20,000 people from different parts of the country met in Plaza de Bolivar to march to the Coliseo de Campin, where the main event was taking place. Read more

“La Puya”: Second year of peaceful struggle against mining project that would affect over 40 thousand families. Interview with one of its spokespeople.

The representative of the Environmental Committee of Cabañas Department in El Salvador, Francisco Pineda, coordinator of the Movement of Victims and People Affected by Climate Change and Corporations (MOVIAC) in that country, Jose Santos and CESTA-Friends of the Earth El Salvador´s Chair, Ricardo Navarro were the speakers on Saturday in an activity held in San Isidro municipality, Cabañas. The MOVIAC submitted the presidential candidate for the Frente Farabundo Martí para la Liberación Nacional (FMLN), Salvador Sanchez Ceren, a political proposal that address es, among many other things, the banning of metal mining exploration and exploitation in the country.
