From October 23 to 27, the Intergovernmental Working Group of the United Nations Human Rights Council that is negotiating a legally binding treaty on transnational corporations and human rights violations will address for the first time the contents of the new treaty in Geneva, Switzerland. These are unprecedented times for those who fight for justice and to stop corporate impunity. For this reason, tens of social movements and organizations from around the world that are part of the Global Campaign to Dismantle Corporate Power and Stop Impunity will come to Geneva to push for the binding treaty. Approximately 40 million people were affected by the intentional fires in 2 million hectares of lands and forests in Indonesia in 2015 to prepare the lands for palm oil production. 23 people died, most of them children, due to respiratory infections. Watch video
