In June, 2014, the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC) will analyze the adoption of a resolution to establish a mandatory legal instrument to enforce regulations around human rights and transnational corporations (TNCs). A wide range of international and grassroots organizations are organizing a week of mobilizations in Geneva and around the world to denounce transnational companies and their architecture of impunity against the violations of human rights, protected by global financial institutions (the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, for instance) and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) or Association or Investment Protection Agreements that subject the sovereignty of States to business profits.
Real World Radio will cover this week of actions as part of the social communication work of Friends of the Earth International. We invite you to promote this coverage with the hashtag #StopCorporateImpunity.
