Friends of the Earth Asia Pacific (APac) will hold its first School of Sustainability in South Lampung Regency, Indonesia, from November 26-30, with the goal to build the political capacities, and others, of young environmentalists. The School will take place in parallel to the Biennial General Meeting (BGM) of Friends of the Earth International, so that the participants of the School can get to know this experience and the activists of over 70 countries of the world who will be present there. Some of the key areas to be dealt with at the school include: forest fires, trade, investment and campaign strategies.

In April 2015, the Supreme Court of Nepal directed the government to shut down the controversial Godawari Marbles Factory, located in the Lalitpur district, in a move to protect the environment and biodiversity. The justices stated that the factory’s operations, including quarrying and extraction works, caused adverse impacts on the local environment and threatened the existence of globally important flora and fauna.
