The radio report says the Ngabe indigenous were harshly repressed by the riot police in San Felix district, leading to the death of demonstrator Geronimo Montezuma and tens of injured.

“This is worse than a dictatorship”, regretted an indigenous demonstrator who blamed president Ricardo Martinellil for the death.
Radio Temblor reports that this weekend there were actions in Ojo de Agua, Viguí, San Lorenzo, Bocas del Toro, Santiago, Colon, Chepo, David and other parts of Panama.

The radio station exposed the use of heavy weapons by the riot police and there were questionable incidents including the government’s order to cut the phone lines of the indigenous leaders.

“We call the international community to take action to expose these incidents and to act in solidarity with the Panamanian people”, concludes the report.
