Social movements are clear: binding treaty now!

The activities of social movements and organizations outside the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, started on Monday in the framework of the second session of the Intergovernmental Working Group of the UN Human Rights Council mandated to take the first steps towards a binding treaty on transnational corporations and human rights violations.

Two moments to be highlighted were the action held in the morning at the United Nations Square (where the “Broken Chair” is placed, in front of the Palais des Nations) by the Global Campaign to Dismantle Corporate Power and End Impunity, which is pressuring in favor of a binding treaty, and a press conference organized by the Campaign and the Treaty Alliance during the afternoon.
